Samish River Boat

Along the Bayview Edison Road there is a small bridge over the Samish River. The end of the river curves west as it opens into the sound.
The sweeping are is filled with grass and an old, abandoned boat.

This next image is more recent, yesterday in fact and you can see the top of the boat has gotten smashed. The green is starting to arrive, and that wonderful grass will be back soon.

  1. Thank you for Sharing and follow up… It rips at an Ol’ Sailor’s heart and soul, to see an abandoned ex-working Fisher, on her side and Neglected/Abandoned. Looks as though kids used the vessel for a fort or keep sakes (Treasures).. The Spirit of the Boat would look favorably upon children doing the Destruction (Young hands- – Future Sailors).. where as malicious Adults would only add Insult to injury. At anyrate she will be GONE with a very High Tide or Nature will use her hull for Food and shelter. Too Your Spirit Ol’ Lady…. SALUTE..!!

  2. Gorgeous images, Andy! Though, like Travis, the sight of a boat sinking back into the earth tugs at my heartstrings …
