Sequim Lavender Festival

The Sequim Lavender Festival officially runs July 21st, 22nd and 23rd. The lavender is already starting to bloom, you can check out the Bloom Report here.

Sequim is on the Olympic Peninsula, to get there from Sedro-Woolley, I drive to Coupeville and take the ferry to Port Townsend. From there its about an hours drive to Sequim.

Here are some images earlier trips to the Sequim Lavender Festival.

And a few images from the ferry ride over!

Washington State Ferry

I arrived very early one February morning, at the Coupeville Ferry dock to catch the 7am boat to Port Townsend, on my way to Point of the Arches, in Olympic National Park.

As I drove the sky got better and better, I paid and parked, got some images of the boat arriving from Port Townsend.

I dont know if Ive ever seen a better sunrise, the colors were unbelievable. I have not edited the sky in these images, just the foregrounds a bit.

The ferry loaded, and I roamed the decks and passageways marveling in the most sumptuous light.

Washington State Ferry Ride: Sunrise

I recently embarked on a trip from my home in Sedro Woolley to my favorite coastal hike and camping spot at Point of the Arches, in Olympic National Park. It’s a long way, maybe 9 hours from start to camp site, and one of the beautiful legs of the sojourn is a ferry ride from Coupeville to Port Townsend. I booked my spot on the Ferry and arrived just as the sunrise was happening.

I knew it was going to be a great trip when the images from the ferry ride were enough to make the entire trip worth while!

Images of the coast to come, but here is just one to whet the appetite!
