Yesterday was a mix of clouds and sun, then rain…followed by more sun and a rainbow!
These are from Thursday, April 13th. I took a group of students to RoozenGaarde for Photo Class.
Way in the back across several very muddy fields, there were several lovely fields, actually bordering McClean Road.
I expected rain, and we were blessed with wonderful clouds and a near perfect sky. Anyway, here are a few images.
Next week, April 17 to 23 should see most of the fields go into bloom, but who knows what Mother Nature has in mind…
For me Day 1 means my first tulip festival photo shoot of the year.
And no, there are no tulips quite yet. But the daffodils have started to bloom! Here is the Bloom Map to see where they are.
Last two years, the daffodils were almost done by now. But this has been an unusually wet, cold and dreary winter.
Here are two daffodil images from this morning.
We did espy one lone tulip…
And a few snow geese.
Picture takin’ in Skagit Valley is way beyond cool!
I offer guided Photo Tours of Tulip Festival, here is the link with more info
For anyone interested in more of a wilderness experience, we also do North Cascades Hiking and Photo Tours and for anyone interested in photographing the Milky Way, Night Sky Photo Tours.
Along the Bayview Edison Road there is a small bridge over the Samish River. The end of the river curves west as it opens into the sound.
The sweeping are is filled with grass and an old, abandoned boat.

This next image is more recent, yesterday in fact and you can see the top of the boat has gotten smashed. The green is starting to arrive, and that wonderful grass will be back soon.

The Enchantments are a small section of the Alpine Lakes Wilderness, in the North Cascades of Washington State.
There are many magical sights to see.
Here are three of my favorites:

Fir Island lies in the Skagit River delta. It is the winter home for snow geese and other migratory water fowl.

These three images are from my favorite camp site in Washington, Sahale Glacier Camp, North Cascades National Park. The camp sits at the toe of Sahale Glacier, atop three mounds of glacial rubble. Mountain goats frequent the camp, posing before the vista.
Here are a few pics from the sunrise this Sunday morning, Point of the Arches and Shi Shi Beach.
